RESULTS POLICY: Coaches turning in results for any sport are reminded to use full names for all athletes. Handwriting must be legible. Photos of scorebooks must be in focus and well lit. Records should be included. Results for varsity high school and college events must be turned in that day by 9:30 p.m. All other events must be turned in by 8 p.m. Turn in results via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, fax at (419) 447-3274, telephone at (419) 448-3250 or in the drop box by the paper’s front door at 320 Nelson St. Results must be turned in the day of the event. Depending on time constraints, games and events turned in which do not include full names or are turned in late may not have recaps written about them. Results which are unreadable will not be included in the paper.
GIRLS JV BASKETBALL: Upper Sandusky beat Mohawk 34-27. Jessie Weir scored 16 points for Mohawk.
BOYS JV BASKETBALL: Carey beat Seneca East 67-30, getting 22 points from Ashton Hill. Isaac Mason scored 12 points for Seneca East and Cody Heibertshausen had eight.
n Bryce Arbogast and Jalen Cofer each scored eight points and Daniel Lommerse added six in Hopewell-Loudon’s 34-16 win over New Riegel. Grant Reinhart had five and Will Hershman four for the Blue Jackets.
n Calvert defeated Lakota 48-17. Quinn Ronski and Bob Price both scored 13 points for Calvert.
n Old Fort upended Gibsonburg 36-30, getting eight points from Shane Webb and seven from Adam Magers.
n Nathan Geary scored 25 points to key Mohawk on a 48-40 win against Vanlue.
n Seth Bellville shot just before the buzzer and lifted Columbian 42-40 over Clyde. Andy Shawberry had 12 points for TC and Griffin Noftz had 11 for Clyde.
BOYS FRESHMAN BASKETBALL: Calvert defeated Lakota 40-26. Will Kurtz led the Senecas with 13 points, Lee Morgan scored 12, Colin McCarty netted 11 and Nick Palm and and Eddy Willman rounding out scoring with two each.

FREE THROW CHAMPIONSHIP: Calvert is hosting the Tiffin K of C #608 Championship Sunday with registration beginning at 4 p.m. And the competition starting at 4:30 p.m. It includes all boys and girls ages 9-14 as of Jan. 1 of this year. It is free to all.
