COACHING HONOR: Carey will honor the coaching legacy of assistant Rick DeMoss between the junior varsity and varsity games Jan. 30 with New Riegel. DeMoss is a 1966 Old Fort graduate who coached 35 years at New Riegel and is an assistant at Carey.

BOWLING: Jim Donaldson had the high men’s game (174) and series (445) this week for Allen Eiry, while the high women’s game went to Robin Brownell (178) and the high women’s series went to Deb Phillips (474).

SOCCER: Heidelberg University soccer will hold a training program for elementary and middle school-aged children in Seneca and Sandusky counties and surrounding areas. Coaches will teach soccer fundamentals for eight weeks Sunday afternoon/evenings, starting Jan 26. The program will be held at the Tiffin YMCA for girls and boys ages 4-14. For ages 4-6, 11-12 and 13-14 the cost is $30, while ages 7-8 and 9-10 is $45.

GIRLS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Fostoria’s seventh grade topped Woodmore 31-7 as Alycia Middlebrooks popped in 15 points for the Redmen. Lyrique Johnson and Makenna Clouse each added four points.

n Fostoria’s eighth grade beat Woodmore 28-17.

n Hopewell-Loudon’s seventh grade beat Carey Our Lady of Consolation 27-23. Olivia Bishop dropped in 12 points, while Brynn Sendelbach added six points for H-L. Lucy Kinley (13) and Riley Yost (7) led the OLC effort.

n Hopewell-Loudon’s eighth grade routed Calvert 39-21. For H-L, Carley Coffman had 14 points, while Isabelle Beidelschies followed her with 13 points.

BOYS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Calvert’s eighth grade beat Hopewell-Loudon 29-24. For H-L, Evan Kreais had 10 points, while Blake Berrier added five.

n Hopewell-Loudon’s seventh grade topped Calvert 27-19 as Braylon Martinez dropped in 14 points for the Chieftains. Will Nutter contributed six points.

BOYS JV BASKETBALL: Calvert beat Edison 52-43 as Jackson Seislove had 18 points for the Senecas. They also got 12 points each from Quin Ronski and Bob Price.
