GOLF: Rufus Tyree, Jim Banks, Herb Love, Norm Blymyer and Howard Elchert tied the team of Duth Edeburn, Bob Grothaus, Denny Lofay and Dale Wisebaker at 4 under in Thursday’s Retirees League at Seneca Hills. Prize winners were Banks (closest to pin No. 16) and Dick Rochester (long putt No. 12).

n The Thursday Morning Men’s Senior League at the Front 9 was won by the team of George Wolph, Vince Wolph, Paul Donaldson and Ray Tittle at 5 under. Second place was Jim Montz, Gary Kroeger and Jim Radcliff at 4 under. Prize holes went to George Wolph (closest in one), Donaldson (closest in two) and Vince Wolph (closest in three).

10K: The 41st annual Oktoberfest Classic 10k is Oct. 6 at 9:30 a.m. Race information and registration can be found at www.minster10k.com. A one-mile fun run will also be held at 9:35 a.m. Registration costs $15 and occurs at the high school.

JV TENNIS: Upper Sandusky’s Elena Coates and German foreign exchange student Vanessa Koch won a doubles match 8-7 against Shelby.

JV VOLLEYBALL: Norwalk beat Columbian 25-18, 25-14. Haileigh Kutscher had seven digs for Columbian.

n Buckeye Central beat Wynford 23-25, 25-21, 25-10.

n Calvert downed Old Fort 25-22, 27-25, thanks to 12 digs from Samantha Wellman and 11 from Bradleigh Meier. Kate Laney (2 solo blocks) added five kills and five assists, Kelsey Shiley had five assists and four kills and Caitlyn Borer belted three solo blocks. Madison Nesselhauf tallied 11 digs for Old Fort, Breanna Hoerig had 10 digs, Faith Miller registered four kills and four digs, Jillian Stover accounted for three digs and two kills and Jaislynn Woodall served two aces.

n Arlington beat Hopewell-Loudon 25-21, 25-17. Allie Milligan tallied nine assists and seven digs for H-L, Haley Weaver had eight digs and three aces, Abby Daniel drilled five kills and three aces, Raylee Baker belted four kills and Ashley Daniel lined three aces and three kills.

n Upper Sandusky beat Colonel Crawford 19-25, 25-14, 32-30.

n Carey topped Seneca East 25-21, 25-14. Mya Ousley made seven digs for the Tigers, while Lexi Bloom had two kills and four aces.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL: Norwalk beat Columbian 25-21, 25-21. Miriam Al-Zakwani lined four kills for Columbian and Kennedy Riley served three aces.

n Old Fort upended Calvert 25-21, 13-25, 25-23, thanks to Brooke Withrow’s nine digs, eight aces and four kills. Kennedy Guth added nine digs and two aces, Cameron Cleveland registered eight assists, seven kills and five digs and Molly Kupke had six assists, three aces and three digs. Lydia Ardner gave Calvert 17 assist, seven digs and three aces, Bradleigh Meier had 12 digs, Kendal Krzyzak lined six kills and Ashlynn Deats belted three aces.

n Carey outlasted Seneca East 19-25, 25-16, 25-17. Rhyleigh Flanders smacked seven kills for SE.

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL: Seneca East’s eighth grade beat Carey 25-9, 17-25, 27-25. Myah Geary led SE with six assists, two kills and seven aces, while Abbi Drosky added eight kills, Caroline Kagy tallied five kills and three aces and Hannah Chaffee ended with five assists, two kills and two aces.

n Seneca East’s seventh grade also beat Carey 25-11, 25-10 as Devynn Cheek served six aces for SE. It also got five kills and a pair of aces from Skylar Neville, three kills and six aces by Alaina Chapman, eight assists and three aces from Jaidyn Kagy and six aces by Brie Price.

JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL: Brayden Roggow threw four touchdown passes to key Tiffin’s 32-6 win against Fremont. Roggow had TD tosses of 32 and 31 yards to Jack Koerper, 54 yards to Bryce Roggow and 3 yards to Brady Gooding. He ended 5 for 7 passing for 126 yards, and added conversion passes to Gooding and Roggow and a conversion run. Keishon Seitz also scored on a conversion run.
