10K: The 41st annual Oktoberfest Classic 10k is Oct. 6 at 9:30 a.m. Race information and registration can be found at www.minster10k.com. A one-mile fun run will also be held at 9:35 a.m. Registration costs $15 and occurs at the high school.
VARSITY BOYS GOLF: Lakota topped Sandusky St. Mary 169-187 Tuesday at Sycamore Hills. Colt Dible led the Raiders with a 40, while Kyleigh Dull added a 42, Gabe Dohanyos had a 43 and Ethan Longoria and Connor Hill shot twin 44s. Jayden Bonnell shot a 53. Casey Crooks led the Panthers with a 37.
VARSITY VOLLEYBALL: Calvert swept Danbury 25-12, 25-10, 25-14 in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division play Tuesday. Ashlyn Jones and Zoe Meyer (3 blocks) each slammed 10 kills for the Senecas, while Kate Rombach added nine kills, Jones, AJ Hemminger and Hannah Miller each served two aces, Mara Mangiola made 11 digs, Hemminger had nine digs and Leah Renninger had a pair of blocks.
JV VOLLEYBALL: Calvert topped Danbury 25-8, 25-10 Tuesday. Kelsey Shiley had four kills and three assists for the Senecas, while Caitlyn Borer, Kate Laney (7 assists) and Frannie Webb (3 aces, 1 block) all had two kills. Samantha Wellman tallied three aces and eight digs and Bradleigh Meier made five digs.
JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL: Calvert’s eighth grade beat Danbury 25-14, 25-7. Allee Ritzler had six aces and seven digs for the Senecas, while Morgan Elchert had three aces and a pair of digs, Cecelia Palm added two aces and two digs, Olivia Miller dished seven assists, Caroline Lanicek smashed six kills, Lydia Wellman had three kills and Allison Porter recorded three assists.
n Calvert’s seventh grade edged Danbury 26-24, 18-25, 25-19 as Allison Ott had four aces and 14 assists for Calvert. It also got four aces and three digs from Kennedy Cleland, three aces and two assists from Addison King, three aces and five assists from Alyssa Rishty, two assists and two digs by Shelby Michaels and three aces and five digs from Isabella Lucius.
GOLF: The team of Gary Ehrenfried and Jerry Schlick defeated Alex Reamer and Doug Tanner in the championship match of the Thursday Night K of C League at Clinton Heights.
n The K of C League banquet is tonight at the K of C. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Social will be at 6 p.m.
n The Wednesday Senior League at Clinton Heights was won by the team of Don Kin, Mike Mertes, Gary Hohman and Gary Krieger at 5 under. Four teams tied for second at 4 under. Prize holes went to Kin (closest in one No. 8), Denny Lofay (closest in two No. 6), Al Thomas (closest in three No. 9) and Mertes (long putt No. 2).
BOWLING: Deb Phillips bowled the high game (169) and high series (300) in the Allen Eiry League. Steve Steinmetz had the high game (161) and high series (301) for the men.
