GOLF: The team of Gary Hohman, Rufus Tyree and Larry Wilson shot even par to win Monday’s Retirees League at Seneca Hills. Prize winners were Dutch Edeburn (closest to pin No. 6), Dave Combs (long putt No. 3), while Combs also had the low gross with a 35.

n In semifinal matches in the Reineke Two-Man Scramble at Clinton Heights, Skip Holcomb and Dick Hall defeated Greg Bishop and Dave Kirby 12 1/2-7 ½. Mike Hampp and Ted Rombach beat Gary Kroeger and Craig Neiffer 14-6. The winners will play next week for the league title.

n Mitch Stearns continues to lead in the second half of the Phat Cakes Golf League with 137 points. Ray Nutter is second with 135 points. Mike Gibson posted the low round with a 37. Skin winners were Gibson and Jason Galitza. Prize winners were Tony Consolo (pin shot No. 5), Andy Halcomb (long putt No. 3), Gibson (proximity shot No. 2), Nutter (long drive No. 6) and Stearns (long putt No. 7). Week No. 19 will be on the Back 9 today. There are two weeks left before the playoffs begin Sept. 23.

n The Teresa Kessler Scholarship big cup tournament sponsored by New Riegel Athletic Association and Baumann Chevrolet was held Sunday at Fostoria Country Club with 28 teams. Winning with a tournament record of 18 under was the team of Don Spangler, Rick Theis, Mark Theis and Mike Theis. In second was the squad of Denny Lofay, Carol Lofay, Jerad Kuhlman and Danielle Lofay at 16 under. Ed Depinet, Jason King, Dave Depinet and Ryan Depinet scored the only skin with an eagle on No. 17.

PRE-SALE TICKETS: Pre-sale tickets for Friday’s Seneca East football game at Willard can be purchased in Seneca East’s high school office until Friday at 3 p.m. Both adult pre-sale tickets and student pre-sale tickets are only $5. Willard’s AD is offering this early purchase of tickets due to the large crowd expected from their community and ours for their Military Appreciation Night.

VARSITY GIRLS GOLF: Seneca East topped Buckeye Central 224-251 at Clinton Heights. Autumn enders led SE with a 48, while Taylor Greilich and Kayla Felter each added a 57.

JV BOYS GOLF: Columbian downed Vermilion 229-242 at Mohawk Country Club. Mason Garcia led TC with a 53. IT also got a 56 from Andrew Engle, a 58 from Blaise Wagner and a 62 by Jimmy Skidmore.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL: Calvert outlasted Margaretta 25-18, 20-25, 25-22. Ashlynn Deats had five aces for Calvert. It also got four aces from Kayce Clouse, 11 kills and 12 digs from Bradleigh Meier, 19 assists by Lydia Ardner, 12 digs from Madyson Deats and six kills by Kendal Krzyzak.

JV VOLLEYBALL: Mohawk beat Upper Sandusky 23-25, 25-21, 25-21. Emily Klopp smashed five kills for the Warriors, while Emma Golling served five aces and Kendyll Gurney made nine digs.

n Seneca East topped New London 25-15, 25-7. Brooke Bordner tallied four kills and four aces for the Tigers. They als got four kills from Mya Ousley and seven assists and four aces by Karson Borer.

n Old Fort dominated Gibsonburg 25-11, 25-11. For OF, Cameron Cleveland served two aces, Faith Miller added five aces, Madison Nesselhauf smacked three kills, Jaislynn Woodall had three aces and a pair of kills, Alyssa Hoerig added three aces and six assists, Jillian Stover compiled three aces, Katie Reiter made three digs and Breanna Hoerig also made three digs.

n Calvert thumped Lakota 25-5, 25-4 as Bradleigh Meier, Kelsey Shiley, Madison Widman and Samantha Wellman all served two aces for the Senecas. Meier added seven digs, Wellman made 11 digs and Shiley had four assists. Kate Laney notched two kills, five assists and seven digs and Frannie Webb blasted a pair of kills.

n Hopewell-Loudon downed New Riegel 23-25, 25-16, 25-23 as Allie Milligan had three aces and eight assists for H-L, Grace Hoover added two aces and four assists, Alex Jackson tallied eight kills and two blocks, Shea Harper had three aces and three kills, Abby Daniel collected four kills and five digs, Raylee Baker compiled three kills and a pair of blocks and Haley Weaver made seven digs.

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL: Mohawk’s eighth grade beat Seneca East 25-22, 25-13. For SE, Myah Geary had four assists, Caroline Kagy collected three digs, five kills and three aces and Hannah Chaffee finished with four assists and three aces.

n Seneca East’s seventh grade topped Mohawk 25-12, 25-9 as Jaidyn Kagy posted nine assists and four aces for Seneca East. Alaina Chapman added two assists and seven kills, Natalie Daniel tacked on a pair of assists, eight kills and three aces and Skylar Neville ended with four kills and eight aces.

n Bellevue’s seventh grade topped Columbian 25-22, 25-16.

n Bellevue’s eighth grade beat Columbian 25-22, 25-19.

n Hopewell-Loudon’s eighth grade topped New Riegel 20-25, 25-15, 25-14. Grace Mullholand had six aces for New Riegel, while Makenzie Shaferly made five digs and Katie Dryfuse slammed four blocks. For H-L, Anna Daniel served eight aces, Isabelle Bedielschies tacked on two aces and four kills, Lydia Walters had four aces and 10 assists, Audrey Hoover served three aces, Carley Coffman smacked four kills and Kendall Eilrich lined three kills.

n Hopewell-Loudon’s seventh grade downed New Riegel 25-17, 25-14. Ashlyn Bouillon served five aces, Audrey Bumb added two digs and Kelsey Bodart finished with a pair of digs for the Blue Jackets. For H-L, Olivia Bishop lined four kills, Ashlyn Walters added six kills, Addison Siebenaller served seven aces, Brynn Sendelbach had four aces, Isabella Humphrey had three aces and Sydney Brickner ended with eight assists.

n Old Fort’s seventh grade topped Gibsonburg 26-24, 25-22.

n Old Fort’s eighth grade beat Gibsonburg 26-24, 25-13. Audra Miller had five assists and eight aces for OF, while Gillian Eakin had four assists and four aces, Addy Gillmor added four aces and three kills, Marissa Dunn slammed four kills, Olivia Abdoo tacked on a pair of kills and Madi Blankenship had eight digs.

n Calvert’s eighth grade topped Lakota 25-19, 25-8. Allee Ritzler served six aces for Calvert, while Caroline Lanicek also had six aces, Allison Porter tallied eight assists and seven kills, Olivia Miller added nine assists and two kills and Camryn Shook slammed seven kills.

n Calvert’s seventh grade beat Lakota 25-13, 25-23 as Alyssa Rishty served 11 aces and slammed three kills. Kennedy Cleland had four aces, Addison King added three aces, two assists and three kills and Allison Ott made four digs.

VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT: The Tiffin Heritage Festival tournament is at Hedges-Boyer Park Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. The format is 4 on 4, with at least one player being female. Lunch is provided with registration fee. In case of weather, the tournament will be held at the Tiffin YMCA.
