n The Teresa Kessler Memorial Big Cup scramble to benefit Teresa Kessler Scholarship will be held Sept. 8 at the Fostoria Country Club, beginning at 9 a.m. Four team spots remain. Cost is $200, which includes golf, carts, skins, lunch and prizes. n The seventh annual Outing for Tiffin-Seneca United Way occurs Sept. 14 at Seneca Hills. Shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. with registration open at 7:30 a.m. Cost per team of four is $200 and will include 18 holes of golf with two carts per team, lunch for four (brats and burgers) and two drink tickets per person. There will be a lot of door prizes, skins, 50/50, mulligans and hole contests. To pre-register for a team, become a major sponsor, which includes a team, or a hole sponsor, contact the United Way office at (419) 448-0355 or go to the website at www.tiffin-seneca-unitedway.org and click on events button.

n Adam Smith and Mark Miller lead the final third in the Men’s Wednesday night Catholic League at Seneca Hills with 122 points with one week left. Mark Dircksen and Denny Krupp were tied for the low gross with a 35 and Dave Porter and Dircksen had the low net with 31s.

n With one week left in the Reineke Two-Man scramble at Clinton Heights, Gary Kroeger and Craig Neifer lead the final third with 31 points. Ron Jones and Chuck Wilbert have 92 ½ points to lead two other teams in total points. Prize winners were Ted Rombach (eagle on No. 9), Dave Purnell (long putt No. 1 and No. 4 in two), Kyle Daugherty (closest in one No. 8) and Kroeger (closest in one No. 5).

n The team of Don Kin, Harry Smith and Ed Lutz shot 2 under to win Monday’s Retirees League at Seneca Hills. Prize winners were Bob Grothaus (long putt No. 9) and Herb Love (closest to pin No. 6). Kin and Love tied for the low gross with a 34.

n The Seneca Hills Golf Club held its annual club championship this past weekend. The winners were Steve Miller (super senior gentleman), Bill Hill (senior gentleman), Bryan Kennedy (men’s club champion) and Carla Siebenaller (ladies club champion) for the fourth time.

n The annual Seneca Hills Thursday Two-Man scramble fall league begins Sept. 12 at 5:15 p.m. with handicap. Optional fun night is Sept. 5 at 5:15 p.m. for skins and handicapping. Call Bobby Pollitt for details at (419) 447-9446.

JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL: Mohawk’s eighth grade topped Colonel Crawford 25-14, 25-18 as AJ Chevalier had 12 serves.

n Mohawk’s seventh grade defeated Colonel Crawford 25-18, 25-12. Allison Russell had 15 serves.

n Buckeye Central’s eighth grade beat Seneca East 29-27, 25-13. Myah Geary had three kills and five aces for the Tigers, while Abbi Drosky added four kills and three aces and Caroline Kagy ended with four kills and three aces.

n Seneca East’s seventh grade topped Buckeye Central 25-9, 25-15 as Jaidyn Kagy had five assists, four aces and a pair of digs for the Tigers. They also got three assists, three kills and five aces from Alaina Chapman and six assists, two digs and seven aces from Natalie Daniel.

n Calvert’s eighth grade topped Old Fort 25-11, 25-7. Morgan Elchert had four aces for the Senecas, while Jena Vera served two aces, Caroline Laniak had four kills and Camryn Shook slammed three kills. Olivia Miller added three kills, two aces and two assists.

n Calvert’s seventh grade topped Old Fort 25-16, 25-15. Isabella Lucius served eight aces, Alyssa Rishty had five aces for Calvert, Addison King served four aces, Allison Ott added three more aces and Kennedy Cleveland and Shelby Michaels each had two aces.

JV VOLLEYBALL: Seneca East downed Fremont St. Joe 25-22, 25-18. Brooke Bordner smashed four kills for SE.

FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL: Fremont St. Joe beat Seneca East 25-17, 25-8.

VARSITY BOYS GOLF: Norwalk steamrolled Bellevue 186-246 at Eagle Creek in SBC Lake Division play. Easton Hicks and Gavin Brugnone led the Redmen with 59s, while Sam Hosang tallied a 63 and Corbin Snyder shot a 65.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL: New Riegel swept Carey 25-16, 25-19, 25-21.
