GOLF: The Seneca Hills Retirees League will not play Monday.
n After two weeks of the second five weeks of the Old Fort Ex-Hi Over 50 League, Sleepy Johnson leads with 17 points. Prize holes went to Ed Correll (closest third shot No. 10) and Ron Bowlin (closest to pin No. 16 and longest putt No. 17).
n Dave Combs, Dave Seislove, John Armstrong and Ken Gase tied the team of Ted Rombach, Mike Lucius, Bum Farr and Jim Hoffbaur at 7 under to win the Senior League at Clinton Heights. Prize holes went to Jack Snay (closest in one No. 11), Rombach (closest in two No. 18 and long putt No. 10) and Farr (closest in three No. 17).
n Kevin Orians of Custer, Ohio, recently had a hole-in-one at the No. 4 par 3 at the Robert Jones course at Speidel Golf Complex in Wheeling, West Virginia. He used a gap wedge for the 106-yard shot. Orians is a member of the Bump’s Traveling Group, and it was his first ace. Witnessing the shot was Gary Scheid, Pete Meisner and Mark Orians.
VICTORY DAY: Tiffin University will hold its second annual Victory Day 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 17 at Frost-Kalnow Stadium. The free event provides 30 cognitively- and physically-impaired children the opportunity to play football or cheer. Each child will partner with a TU football player or cheerleader who will serve as their mentor for the day. Participants will wear a TU game jersey and participate in several game-day activities.
