GOLF: The New Riegel Athletic Boosters will host the Teresa Kessler Big Cup scramble Sept. 9 at 9 a.m. at the Fostoria Country Club. All holes will have 8-inch cups except for par 3s. All profits will go the Teresa Kessler Scholarship Fund.
n Tiffin-Seneca United Way is hosting its 6th annual outing at Clinton Heights Sept. 8. Registration starts at 7:45 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $200 for a team, $100 for a hole sponsor and $500 for a major sponsor. The outing includes golf, cart, lunch and two drink tickets per person. There will be door prizes, hole contests, skins, mulligans and a 50/50 drawing. Larry and CJ Kisabeth, golf outing chairs are looking for major sponsors, hole sponsors, door prize sponsors and teams. n Chuck Wilbert, Fred Smith, Mike Windau and Dave Seislove shot 7 under to win Friday’s Senior League at Clinton Heights. Tied for second were Dave Combs, Harry Smith, Don Hammer and Steve Scheiber and Kim Ruess, Wade Burger, Casey Breighner and Jon Eakin at 5 under. Prize holes went to John Garpl (closest to pin in one), Ruess (closest in two), Bill Dunlap (closest in three) and Breighner (long putt).
n The team of Dan Gaietto and Fred Reimer lead the Thursday Night K of C League at Clinton Heights. Joe and Nathaniel Worland won a skins game. Prize holes went to Greg Tiell (closest to pin No. 11), Dan Colatruglio (long putt No. 13), Andy Brickner (closest to pin No. 16) and Jerry Schlick (long putt No. 18).
n Ron Bowlin leads the last five weeks of the Old Fort Over 50 League with 29 points. Prize holes went to Ron Johnson (closest to pin second shot No. 1), Ray Trautman (longest putt No. 2) and Terry Fowler (closes to pin No. 9).
OHSAA MEETING: All fall sports athletes and parents for Old Fort, there will be a mandatory OHSAA meeting July 31 at 7 p.m. in the high school commons. They will be implementing electronic forms that will replace all paperwork that has needed to be filled out at meetings in previous years. Plan to attend this meeting.
n There will be a mandatory fall OHSAA meeting at the Columbian Auditorium Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. for Columbian and Tiffin Middle School fall athletes.
n Hopewell-Loudon will hold its OHSAA fall sports parent and athlete meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the school auditeria. All athletes and parents of fall athletes in grades 7-12 are to attend.
YOUTH FOOTBALL: There is a Youth League Football draft and Youth Cheerleading registration Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hedges-Boyer Park in the shelter by the D-league baseball field at the base of the circle. SOFTBALL: The 21st annual Laurie Mann Memorial Tournament at Port Clinton Waterworks Park is Friday-Saturday. It is a USSSA men’s qualifier with the proceeds going to a scholarship fund for a graduating senior. Call Mike Williamson for details at (419) 603-7687.
SEASON TICKETS: Starting Monday reserved football tickets for Bellevue football will be on sale for those who were reserved ticket holders last season.Aug. 6 all remaining reserved seats will be open for sale to the general public and they will no longer be able to guarantee any seats from last season. The Redmen have six home games this season, including a possible playoff game. Reserve ticket holders will receive a complimentary Redmen window decal with the purchase of every seat. It’s $42 for adults, $35 for parents of football players, varsity cheerleaders or band members. It’s $30 for students K-12 and also $30 for senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased daily at the high school from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
