The Community Music School at Heidelberg University again is offering group music classes as an introduction to musical experiences this fall.
JUMPStart group music classes are designed for those who want to further their musical interests without a large time or monetary commitment. Classes are being offered in five-week sessions, said Cynthia Ramsdell, CMS directorl. Sessions are open to the community and are available for people of all ability levels.
Group classes are forming in guitar for teens and adults and piano for beginners, advanced beginners and intermediates. Registration for the first fall session continues through Sept. 8. Session 2 enrollment opens Oct. 7 and continues through Oct. 20. Most classes begin the week of Sept. 9; the day and time are to be determined by enrollees' schedules.
JUMPStart classes are $40 each, payable at the first session. Participants may enroll in more than one session.
CMS also offers private music lessons taught by Heidelberg and community instructors with a variety of educational levels. Lessons are offered on most instruments, including keyboard, piano, organ and guitar, as well as voice and theory and composition. Enrollment is ongoing and flexible, and lessons can begin and end at any time. Rates begin at $12 for 30 minutes.
