A community movie night is planned 8:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday.
South Washington Street, between Market and Perry streets, is to be closed to show "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." Bring seating.
Church festival this weekend
KIRBY - Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church's St. Mary chapel is to have its summer festival Saturday and Sunday.
A bike run departs at 11 a.m. Saturday from the parish grounds on Main Street, Kirby. The food booths and beer garden open at 2:30 p.m. and an adult cornhole tournament begins at 4 p.m. The festival is open until midnight Saturday.
Sunday's activities run 2-10 p.m. Barbecue chicken or pork chop dinners are to be served, children's games are to be open and bingo is offered 5-10 p.m.
Childhood cancer benefit Sunday
Camden Falls/Carmie's Grill and Bar is to be the site of a car show 1-4 p.m. Sunday. This benefit for Kids Cancer Crusade is to feature trophies, door prizes, a DJ and 50/50 drawing. Registration is $10. For more information, call (419) 447-1976.
Late Show to play at reasonable hour
The Late Show is to introduce vocalist Trez Gregory and a new song set at 7 p.m. Sunday at Hedges-Boyer Park. Bring seating for the free concert.
Ice cream, concert featured
FREMONT North Coast Big Band is to finish the 2014 verandah concerts at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The free outdoor concert is to take place at the Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont.
Before the free concert, attendees can enjoy an old-fashioned ice cream social at 6:45 p.m. The music lasts until 8 p.m.
Festival spotlights Latino culture
FOSTORIA - The annual Latino Fest is to return Aug. 23 to downtown Fostoria.
The festivities are to begin on Main Street at 2 p.m. and continue until midnight. Hear live Latino bands, sample Hispanic foods and play Mexican bingo. The festival also is to feature rides, activities, childrens' games, a youth dance and more.
