Danny R. Ohler Sr., of Republic, was killed Saturday evening, May 31, 2014, in a tractor accident at his home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1954, in Tiffin, to John H. and Mildred (Trausch) Ohler. He married Ruth Ann Moyer and they later divorced.
Survivors include a son, Danny R. (Andrea) Ohler Jr. of Urbana; a stepdaughter, Tonya Diekman of Lindsey; a granddaughter, Kayla, of Georgia; three stepgrandsons; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Paulette (David) Schank and Cheryl (James) Wagner, both of Republic; a brother, John Ohler of Rineyville, Kentucky; and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Kyle Schank.
Danny was employed at Sunoco, Tiffin. He was a member of the "He-Man-Women-Haters Club" and an original member of the Seneca County Chapter of the Avengers Motorcycle Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed making all kinds of wine, and he also enjoyed riding motorcycles.
A joint funeral for Danny and his mother, Mildred Ohler, who died Jan. 21, 2014, will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating.
Burial will be at 9 a.m. Friday, June 6, at Farewell Retreat Cemetery, Republic. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
