John G. Pupa Jr., 78, of Tiffin, died at 1:39 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital, in the emergency room.
He was born Sept. 9, 1935, in Port Washington, N.Y., to John G. Sr. and Stephanie Pupa. He married Patricia Buckowski Aug. 21, 1960, at St. Peter Church, Port Washington, and she survives.
Other survivors include five sons, Michael Pupa of Delaware, Christopher Pupa of Tiffin, Caleb Pupa of Willard and Jordan Pupa and Mackenzie Pupa, both of Tiffin; three daughters, Tina Pupa of Mansfield, Robin Tennis of Columbus and Rebecca Moberly of Somerset; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Markland of Sebring, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joseph Pupa; and a sister, Stella Keane.
John was a retired project engineer in New York. He was also a draftsman in Columbus. He attended Farmingdale College, Long Island, N.Y. He served in the U. S. Army from 1954-1957 and had been stationed in Germany. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, and the Polish-American Club, Port Washington.
Visitation for family and friends will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at St. Francis Home chapel, Tiffin.
His funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. The Rev. Frank Murd will officiate. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center. Military services will take place at the gravesite.
