Like light at the end of a tunnel - a long, cold, windy, enclosed bobsled run of a tunnel - outdoor activities are on the horizon. And we don't mean polar plunges, snowman making contests or winter hikes.
No, we are exactly a month away from the inaugural Museum/Gallery Alliance Art Walk. The introductory walk is set for 6-9 p.m. April 4 in downtown Tiffin.
The evening is to include free admission to each of the seven alliance members: American Civil War Museum of Ohio, Tiffin Glass Museum, Seneca County Museum, Tiffin Art Guild, The Enchanted Moment Doll Museum, Diane Kidd Gallery at Hayes Center for the Arts on the Tiffin University campus and Tiffin Historic Trust's Grammes-Brown House.
Free shuttle service is to be available, and downtown businesses are expected to offer visitors even more to see and do that evening.
The event is to serve as a trial run for what is expected to be a bigger and busier Art Walk set for Aug. 9.
"That's the same day as Tiffin Art Guild's art fair on the courthouse lawn and there's a farmer's market, too," TAG President Jon?Adams said. "The April event is to get the galleries and organizations up to speed. We're going to be open and we're all going to have something going on."
"I'm inviting everyone I meet and telling them to bring three friends," said Mary Lewis, a Tiffin Historic Trust board member.
Now we're inviting you, and asking you to tell your friends. With the TU ProMusic Festival - and educational program for high school bands and vocal groups - concluding that day, downtown Tiffin could be a popular place April 4.
Besides, the forecast now is calling for sunny skies with a high temperature of 61. See what we meant about that light at the end of the tunnel?
