Lewis N. Schofield Wade Sr., 81, of Fostoria, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013.
He was born June 13, 1932, to Taylor Schofield and Patricia Wade Newman.
He married Lucy M. Glover May 4, 1952, and they later divorced. He married Jayne Affholder Aug. 3, 1990, and she survives in Fostoria.
He served in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve for 15 years.
He also is survived by six children, Anthony (Donna) Wade of Dublin, Dennis (Deborah) Wade of Pickerington, Sherman (Linda) Wade of Douglasville, Ga., Lewis Wade Jr. of Mansfield, Zelee Porter of Toledo and Cary N. (Katharine) Wade of N. Canton; four brothers, Donald (Elizabeth) Schofield, Taylor (Josephine) Schofield, Clyde (Ruth) Schofield and Sandy (Naomi) Schofield; four sisters, Ophelia Schofield, Dora Turner, Marilyn Schofield and Gloria Norman; a sister-in-law, Willie B. Stevenson; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Newman; stepfather, Fred Newman; father, Taylor Schofield; stepmother, Paulene Schofield; sister, Willie Petrie; two brothers, Joseph Schofield and Edwin L. Stevenson; and two stepbrothers, Fred and Leonard Newman.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria.
His funeral will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 534 Lynn St., Fostoria, with the Rev. TA Smith presiding.
Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, where the United Veterans of Fostoria will provide military honors.
