I'd like to comment on the letter last week from Michael B. Lange. His connection with and firsthand knowledge of the city of Detroit in the past gives added credence to what we see and hear from there today. Mr. Lange failed to mention that Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" in the 1960s spotlighted Detroit as its poster child. It was to be a monument to their policies. (And it is.)
