The Tiffin University wrestling team is hosting a raffle for a new Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight Saturday, along with a poker run that morning.
The drawing for the bike is to take place at 5 p.m. at Pioneer Mill. Tickets for the raffle are $25 per person and will be able to be purchased up until the drawing, and participants do not need to be present to win, Joey Simcoe, TU head wrestling coach, said.
In addition to the raffle, there also is to be a poker run beginning at 10 a.m. at the Eagles in North Baltimore. The run is to travel to the Eagles in Findlay, to KemoSabes Roadhouse Grill in Fostoria, then to Carmies in Tiffin and end at Pioneer Mill.
For the poker run, participants stop at designated restaurants and draw a card. At the end of the run, the one who has the best poker hand receives a cash prize, Simcoe said.
Tickets to be part of the run are $10 for an individual and $15 for a couple.
Proceeds are to go to the wrestling team for a new mat, new equipment and uniforms, Simcoe said.
"We are hoping to build a stronger community relationship and to reach a new demographic," Simcoe said. "We are trying to get our name out and bring in more fans. Being in the fourth season, we want to let people know that we are here and to come and support us."
At the end of the run, participants can purchase a dinner of BBQ pulled pork, salad and beverages at Pioneer Mill. Entertainment is to be provided with music and cornhole.
