On the night of May 27 (Memorial Day), it was raining, and I placed two beautiful hanging baskets from the porch halfway down our steps to get some of this good rain water. Between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, they were stolen.
I assumed they were probably just dumped somewhere and left for dead. I didn't call the police, as I didn't want to bother them. Coincidentally, two days later, I saw two hanging baskets that looked just like mine hanging on a porch. There is the possibility the new owners were given the plants and didn't know they were stolen.
However, the fact remains they were stolen. There is no sense appealing to the thieves because they don't care, or they wouldn't have stolen in the first place. If they want something they will simply take it. I have since replaced the plants, but want to warn everyone to secure your property as best you can.
