Kermit C. Walcutt, 83, of Bucyrus, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Heartland of Bucyrus.
He was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Benton, to Ralph and Eva (Carl) Walcutt. He was a 1948 graduate of Holmes Liberty High School. That same year, on Dec. 29, he married Margaret Frost, who survives.
Kermit served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-52, returned home and worked at Swan Rubber for 46 years until retiring in 1994. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and liked going on camping trips throughout various states.
In addition to Margaret, his wife of 64 years, Kermit is survived by three daughters, Sheri Schiefer of Bucyrus, Charlene (Ed) Rowland of New Washington and Wendy Grimmer of Bahama, N.C.; six grandchildren, four of whom are, Troy Moritz, Dawn (Brad) Donahue, Eric (Amber) Schiefer and Jeremy (Melanie) Schiefer; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Kermit was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry Walcutt; and a son-in-law, Don Grimmer.
His family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Wise Funeral Service, 129 W. Warren St., Bucyrus, OH 44820, (419) 562-6811.
His funeral will begin at noon Monday with Mark Dettmer, certified celebrant, officiating. Burial will follow at Brokensword Cemetery where full military rites will be provided by both the U.S. Navy and American Legion Honor Guards.
Memorial contributions may be given to HomeCare Matters Hospice or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
