John Edward "Jack" Earl, 81, of Fostoria, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.
He was born Dec. 19, 1931, in Lima to the late Lester and Ruth (Link) Earl. He married Carolyn Bell Bricker and she preceded him in death in 2005.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Jean Dieter, Fostoria; brother, Robert (Betty) Earl, Arizona; grandson, Shawn Earl, Fostoria; granddaughter, Katie (Michael) Kozak, Columbus; great-granddaughter, Anna Earl; and nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by an infant son, Randy; and a son, Rick .
Jack was a 1950 Fostoria High School graduate. He retired from Union Carbide, and after retirement he worked for the city in the concession stands at both Meadowlark Park and the city pool. Jack was a handyman who enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He liked watching sports and going fishing, but mostly spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held from noon-2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria.
Funeral will begin in the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Malcosky officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
