November 28, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

Dale Helvoigt, 100, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Columbus Colony, Westerville.

She was born June 16, 1912, Melmore. She was the daughter of Duff and Nannie (Palmer) Mesnard.

Dale moved from Melmore to Dover with her husband, Ernest, and young son, Duff. There her next two sons, Dan and John, were born. Her husband taught school in Dover, until his death in 1949. Dale called Dover her home where she raised her family, worked and was surrounded by friends. She enjoyed bike rides with her grandchildren around the neighborhoods in Dover and was a member of Dover United Methodist Church. She liked to entertain on her front porch with her sister, Evalyn. Mornings would find her working on the puzzle over breakfast and making hot chocolate for visiting grandchildren. Dale loved her family and will be dearly missed.

She leaves three sons, Duff (Rita) Helvoigt of New Albany, Dan (Mary) Helvoigt of Utica and John (Helen) Helvoigt of Kamloops, British Columbia; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evalyn and Mabel, and a brother, Edwin.

The family would like to thank the staff at Columbus Colony for their loving care. It is truly appreciated.

Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements completed by Weir-Arend Funeral Home, Columbus, (614) 268-3593.
