Thank you to the Tiffin Moose Lodge!

“The Gift of Giving” was definitely the appropriate theme for Aug. 24 when the Tiffin Moose Lodge hosted a Bingo fundraiser for the Allen Eiry Center. Hours of preparation and planning were handled by John Sherer and Linda Kimmet along with many other volunteers from the Moose who made this event a huge success! Thank you to all of the Bingo players who supported the event and enjoyed the day.

The Allen Eiry Center Mission is To create and promote community involvement for adults who are 50 years of age and older with programs/activities, travel opportunities, and friendships which are socially, physically, culturally, and intellectually stimulating.

AEC is supported by the United Way, grants, organizations and businesses in our community. We are a very active organization that continues to grow with the many activities and programs that we are able to provide because of the community support we receive. We sincerely thank you!

Please support Tiffin-Seneca United Way

Throughout the year our local United Way works diligently to raise funds to go toward the United Way agencies and Associate Partners so that they can pass on exceptional services to the people of our community. These services provide needed opportunities for all ages and walks of life. When a community comes together to help one another, the community grows in a positive way.

The Allen Eiry Center in Tiffin is a primary agency of Tiffin-Seneca United Way.

Our Mission is To create and promote community involvement for adults who are 50 years of age and older with programs/activities, travel opportunities, and friendships which are socially, physically, culturally, and intellectually stimulating.

Why is AEC important to people in and around Seneca County?

• People are living longer and in better health than ever before. With the support of United Way we are able to provide programs that serve people in their later years and respond to the many and diverse needs of active men and women.

• It is the mission of AEC to assist those 50 years of age and older as they embark on new adventures in living, having more freedom, utilizing the experiences of a lifetime, to open up new possibilities and interests, and to be active.

• We are both passionate and compassionate about our members and what is happening not only at the Center but in their everyday lives.

• As a social organization, we provide events and speakers on health issues, Medicare, safety and fraud prevention, just to name a few.

• AEC has several fundraisers throughout the year which are organized and carried out entirely by our volunteers. These functions also provide socialization, which is a very important part of the lives of those we serve.

• Quite often when people retire they have free time on their hands and their daily routine changes drastically. AEC provides new opportunities to turn change to progress for each person who participates in activities.

• Wonderful travel opportunities are available to our members, including single day trips and multi-day trips for all interests.

The Allen Eiry Center is able to offer enhanced services for thousands of people in our community because of your generosity to our local United Way!

Thank you Andrew Kalnow

As I sit here at the National Corner on this hot summer day watching our five year old granddaughter, who just arrived from Germany for a vacation, playing with a lot of other children on the splash pad, I had to think how fortunate the people of Tiffin are to have a venue like this. It is simply that one family is sharing their good fortune and wealth with the community.

A big “thank you” to Andrew Kalnow and the rest of the Kalnow Family for making our town a more desirable place to live in or move to. I trust everyone living in and around Tiffin shares my view and feels fortunate to call this their home.

Fondly and gratefully,

Elke Schneppat
