First responders are amazing individuals

Our first responders are very amazing individuals. They are always there for us, day or night. They risk their lives from the time they take a call, being dispatched out, till they return back to their station. Always staying focused for the commitment they have taken on.

The other day, I was at an intersection where the first responders had to pass through. I was very taken back by what I saw. There were vehicles that did not pull off to the side, a few that turned in front of them and one that almost hit the squad, not paying attention. We, as citizens, need to do our part by staying out of their way and helping them get to where they need to be. It’s amazing, but 1 or 2 minutes, even seconds, could be the turning factor for an individual that may be fighting for their life.

We all live a very fast-paced lifestyle, always hurrying to get here or there. One thing we never should lose sight of is, one day, those first responders could be called to one of our loved ones. Time then would become a factor. The next time you hear the sirens or see the lights, please be respectful and give them the right of way. Many lives could depend on it.

So to all the first responders, THANK YOU for all that you do and for risking your lives daily for individuals you do not even know. We are truly blessed to have each and every one of you.
