Carmela B. Monaco, 94, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 28, 2019, peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born Feb. 3, 1925, in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Italy, one of six children to Michele and Michelina (Circelli) Guarnieri. On January 10, 1948, she married Donato Monaco and he preceded her in death in 2000.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Carmela and Donato left Italy for Venezuela and later moved to Tiffin in 1960, to provide a better life for their family. Family was their everything.
Carmela was a faithful and devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and a wonderful homemaker who loved and cherished her family: especially her grandchildren. Her kitchen was her joy. She was always cooking, baking and making sure every visitor left with a full stomach. She also took great pride in taking care of her garden and fig trees.
Her Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A rosary will begin 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
