William R. ‘Bill’ Roe Sr.

William R. “Bill” Roe Sr., 78, passed away unexpectedly at 4:18 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, in the emergency room at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.

He was born March 16, 1941, in Danville, Illinois, to Robert and Wilma Roe. He married Mary (Fitzwater) June 14, 1959, in Georgetown, Illinois.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Mary Roe of Tiffin; a son, Bill (Selena) Roe; a daughter, Tuesday (Jim) Browning; a sister, Carolyn (Larry) Hall; brothers, Terry Roe, Rex (Edna) Roe, Rusty (Sue) Wilson and Randy (Lori) Wilson; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Roe; and a brother, Robert Roe.

He was an Excel wire employee and retired as a truck driver. He was an avid fisherman and friend of so many. He never met a stranger whether he was on a boat dock, at a fishing club tournament, on a walk to the coffee shop or helping his neighbors.

Per Bill’s wishes there will be no services or visitation at this time.

Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin is assisting the family with their arrangements.
