David Paul Bogner

David Paul Bogner, 70, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2019, from Amyloid Angiopathy. David was home with the love of his life for 16 years, Kathy.

He married Kathy (Di Iorio-Yuzwa) Dec. 31, 2012, after asking many times (She said “just keep asking”) and said “Everyone should have a Dave in their life.”

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Yuzwa-Bogner (Di Iorio); children, Preston J. and Jessica L. Yuzwa; grandson, Preston J. Yuzwa, II; brother to Donna-Rose (Harold) Schlosser; sister-in-law, Joann (the late Fred) Schaeffer; brother-in-law to John Di Iorio and Rob Hupp; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Francis Bogner, and in-laws, Joseph and Eleanor Di Iorio, who adored him.

His entire career was at American Standard as an industrial engineer and graduate of Tiffin University. David enjoyed volunteering with Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Robinson Memorial Hospital, United Way and coaching kids basketball and flag football, playing golf and cards, watching OSU football, drinking wine and dancing with Kathy. Everyone who met Dave commented on his bright smile, charisma and positive outlook during this last year working hard every step of the way.

Family and friends shall be received 30 minutes prior to Catholic Mass at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, honoring Dave’s life at St. Joan of Arc, 8894 Oh-14, Streetsboro. There will be refreshments and lunch immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s honor will be used to support other families dealing with Amyloid Angiopathy.
