Maurice J. Reinhart

Maurice J. Reinhart, 78, formerly of rural Carey, died at midnight Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

Born July 28, 1941, in Seneca County, he was the son of Alvin, Sr. and Rose (Tiell) Reinhart. He married Barbara J. Lonsway May 10, 1969, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. She preceded him in death Sept. 9, 2014.

Surviving are four children, Renee R. (Jeff Bouillon) Reinhart of Alvada, Jay A. (Jen) Reinhart of New Riegel, Jennifer M. (Nicholas) Wertz of Alvada and Melissa C. (Jeffrey) Gossman of Fostoria; seven grandchildren, Aleashia (John) Clark, Zachary, Emmaline, Catherine, Jayden, Trysten and Sydney; and eight siblings, Harold Reinhart of Alvada, Joan (John) Meyer of Findlay, Mildred Biller of Republic, Francis (Angie) Reinhart of Tiffin, Helen (Hank) Reineck of Gibsonburg, Alvin, Jr. (Kate) Reinhart of Kansas, Silverius Reinhart of New Riegel and Ralph Reinhart of West Milgrove.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; and a brother, Earl Reinhart.

Maurice was a 1960 graduate of New Riegel High School. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War Era. He joined the working world after the service and retired from Atlas Crankshaft in Fostoria.

He was a member of All Saints Parish, formerly St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Frenchtown. Memberships included American Legion Post 354 in New Riegel, VFW Post 3759 in Carey and Sandusky River Coon Hunters Association.

There will be no visitation at Maurice’s request.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at the Original Shrine Church in Carey, with the Rev. Conrad Sutter, OFM Conv, officiating. The rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Frenchtown. A military graveside service will be conducted by the New Riegel American Legion Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Riegel EMS, NBS Joint Fire District or New Riegel American Legion special needs picnic fund and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, OH. 43316.
