Sandra L. Bowerman

Sandra L. Bowerman, 76, of Republic, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, at Bellevue Care Center, Bellevue.

She was born June 3, 1943, in Tiffin, to Ray and Lela (McConnell) Neikirk. She married David Bowerman June 17, 1961, at St. Jacob’s United Church of Christ Church, and he survives in Republic.

Other survivors include a daughter, Tammy (AJ) Rogers of Huron; two sons, Denny (Tricia) Bowerman and Brad (Cheryl) Bowerman, both of Republic; eight grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Porter, Matt Porter, Erin Porter, Adam Porter, Kelsey (Ken) Miller, Luke Bowerman, Chad Bowerman and Nicole Bowerman; and two sisters, Nancy Bowers and Ruthann Carnahan, both of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Doris Hoerig and Laura “Babe” Powell.

Sandy was a 1961 graduate of Scipio-Republic High School.

She was a school bus driver for 27 years for Seneca East Schools, retiring in 2006.

She was a member of Republic United Church of Christ, the Rebecca Circle. She also enjoyed playing volleyball, riding motorcycles, painting ceramics, playing euchre with her mother and sisters, was an avid QVC watcher, and a big Cleveland Indians fan.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S SR. 19, Bloomville.

Services for Sandy will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, at the funeral home with pastors Amy Vittorio and Roxie Roush officiating. Burial will follow in Block Cemetery, Republic.
