There’s a bear hunt under way
Seneca County houses are leading kids and families on a bear hunt.
Tiffin resident Megan James is coordinating an effort to encourage residents to place stuffed bears in windows so people can see them.
James said her sister lives in West Virginia and started the program there.
“That would be fun to do here,” she said.
There is a book titled “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Rosen.
“They’re just out walking,” James said.
James is encouraging local residents to put a bear in their window that can be seen from the sidewalk or when a person drives by in a car.
James said people are encouraged to get out and about outside, take a walk and hunt for the bears. It’s a nice way to get out without putting anybody else in harm’s way, she said.
James said some people are going “all out” with the effort, putting up lights and several bears in windows.
It’s not limited to Tiffin or Seneca County, she said.
It seems like everybody is having fun with it, she said.
