Man cited after box truck strikes viaduct
A Columbus man was cited after a box truck struck the North Washington Street viaduct Monday afternoon.
According to a Tiffin Police Department report, Jerome Alexander Lyles, 31, was driving a 2020 International box truck south on North Washington Street.
Lyles failed to obey the 11-foot clearance traffic warning signs and attempted to cross under the railroad viaduct, the report states.
The truck continued driving south, causing the box portion of the truck to tear at the roof line and peel backwards for the entire length of the truck and off the cargo box, the report states.
Lyles was cited with obedience to traffic control devices and was not hurt, it states.
The accident was reported about 2 p.m. Monday.
