Fostoria man charged with burglary
FOSTORIA — A Fostoria man was charged after running out of a building and being involved in foot and vehicle chases, according to Fostoria Police Department.
Joshua V. Garner, 36, was charged with burglary, a second-degree felony, according to Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court records.
Additional charges were pending Thursday, and Garner was in Seneca County Jail.
According to a Fostoria Police Department release and court records, officers were summoned about 2:15 a.m. Thursday for noises coming from the downstairs of Dry Haven, 217 W. Center St.
Officers entered the building, saw a safe/lock box with heavy damage, heard sounds coming from inside and determined someone still was present, according to the release.
Garner ran out of the building, and foot and vehicle chases occurred, it states.
He was found hiding on the side of a Sandusky Street garage, court records state.
“I am proud that my officers continued to give chase until the suspect was apprehended. The inherent dangers the suspect created by fleeing from officers in a vehicle on (wintry) roadways and then chasing on foot show how much my officers are determined to get the bad guys to keep Fostoria safe,” Chief Keith Loreno of Fostoria Police Department said in the release.
