SUV strikes house in Clinton Township
A vehicle arriving home Tuesday afternoon struck the house in Clinton Township.
The accident at 3177 E. SR 18 was reported to Seneca County Sheriff’s Office about 4 p.m.
Trooper Richard Donovan of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Kaitlyn Daniel, 15, of Tiffin, was driving a 2017 Ford sport utility vehicle west on SR 18 and failed to maintain control of the vehicle.
The SUV went off the right side of the road and through the yard, he said.
The vehicle went into the front porch, and a wall was damaged. The whole wall will have to be replaced, Donovan said.
Donovan said he did not know why Daniel lost control, and there were no mechanical issues and no impairment. Daniel was cited with failure to control, he said.
Daniel and her passenger — her mother, Jennifer Daniel, 47, of Tiffin — were wearing seatbelts and were not transported to a hospital, Donovan said.
Personnel from Tiffin Fire Rescue Division, Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, State Highway Patrol and John’s Welding & Towing assisted.
