Nine hurt in accident at US 224 and SR 67

Nine people were hurt when two vans collided at US 224 and SR 67 on Monday afternoon. Sgt. Kent Jeffries of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Christopher M. Ostrowski, 49, of Bowling Green, was driving a 2016 Honda Odyssey east on US 224, and Deanne D. Jackson, 43, of Medway, was driving a 2008 Honda Odyssey north on SR 67. The cause of the accident was under investigation and charges were pending Monday. Jeffries said Deanne Jackson had life-threatening injuries and was flown from the scene by Life Flight to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center. She was wearing a seatbelt, he said. Her passengers — Deandre K. Oliver, 20, of Medway, Isis J. Jackson, 10, of Medway, Osiris D. Jackson, 12, of Medway, and Emma J. Lee, 18, from an unknown location — all had non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital, Jeffries said. Another passenger, Londyn M. Lee-Oliver, 1, of Medway, was not hurt and was in a child safety seat, he said. Jeffries said it was unknown whether Oliver, Isis Jackson and Lee were wearing seatbelts. Osiris Jackson was not wearing one, he said. Jeffries said Christopher Ostrowski and his passengers — Jennifer L. Ostrowski, 43, Aleksander W. Ostrowski, 12, and Ela M. Ostrowski, 14, all of Bowling Green — all had non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Mercy Health – Willard Hospital. Christopher Ostrowski was wearing a seatbelt, and it was unknown if the others were wearing seatbelts, he said. Personnel from Scipio-Republic Fire Department, Republic EMS, Bloomville EMS, Bloom Township Fire Department, Attica-Venice-Reed EMS District, Tiffin Fire Rescue Division, the county's EMS program, the county's Echo unit, Life Flight, Seneca County Sheriff's Office, State Highway Patrol, John's Welding & Towing and D&D Total Repair assisted. State Highway Patrol's crash reconstruction team responded. Ohio Department of Transportation, Bloomville Police Department and Republic Police Department assisted with traffic control. The accident was reported about 2:45 p.m.
