Church to host vendor event

United Baptist Church is to host the Jolly Vendor Event from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the church, 49 Coe St.

The event will feature local vendors and businesses and an appearance by Santa.

Attendees will be able to support the Honduras missions.

There will be opportunities for photos with Santa and children’s craft workshop will be available. A film screening will also take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Chicken dinners are also to be available, with dine-in or take out.

Ecumenical Choir to celebrate 48 years

CAREY — The 48th Carey Ecumenical Christmas Concert is to perform at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay St.

The choir is co-directed by Jack Gerding and Patricia Murphy. Accompanists for the choir are Joy Orians and Ruth Coldwell. Kate O’Reilly serves the choir as the secretary and rehearsal assistant.

This year’s choir is made up of 85 singers from 18 cities throughout northwest and central Ohio. Music for this year’s concert includes traditional melodies along with newly composed contemporary works based on traditional hymn texts. The Epworth Brass from Marion, along with the piano and the majestic organ of the Basilica, will join the chorus to fill the church with the sounds of Christmas.

A free-will offering will be collected during the concert to support the on-going ministry of the choir. The Shrine Cafeteria will be open for dinner immediately following the concert and the Shrine Gift Shop will also be open.

Winterberry Farm plans Christmas celebration

Winterberry Farm, an authentic 1830s farm, is to host its first Spirit of Christmas Celebration from noon-8 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, 2723 SR 53.

Admission is $5 and tickets to the concert are $10, and the home tour and carriage ride are an additional $30.

All proceeds are to go to the continued restoration of the farm.

Findlay’s Birchaven Village to host Bazaar Days craft and bake sale

FINDLAY — Birchaven Village will host its annual Bazaar Days’ craft and bake sale Dec. 13 through Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event will take place on Birchaven’s indoor “Main Street” at 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay.

The event is open to the public, a release from Blanchard Valley Health System states.

Bazaar Days will feature a variety of items handmade by residents, staff, volunteers and families, the release states. According to the release, items for sale include:

• Homemade hardtack candy, fudge, buckeyes and dipped pretzels.

• Hand-crocheted doilies and other items.

• One-of-a-kind tree ornaments.

• Gifts for teachers.

• Cookie jar mixes and custom candy tins.

• Slippers for the whole family.

A comfort food and bake sale will also be Dec. 13 at 10 a.m., featuring homemade chicken and noodles, it states.

All proceeds are to benefit the activities program at Birchaven Village, it states.
