Bellevue man dies in Erie County accident

A Bellevue man died in an accident on SR 4 in Erie County on Wednesday morning.

According to a State Highway Patrol release, Robert F. Loconsole, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident in Groton Township.

Loconsole was driving a 2017 Dodge Caravan south on SR 4, and Michael D. Williams, 45, of Bellevue, was driving a 2017 Peterbilt truck and tanker trailer north on SR 4.

The Dodge Caravan went left of center and struck the Peterbilt head-on before rotating and coming to rest off the west side of SR 4, the release states.

Williams was not treated for the minor injuries he sustained, it states.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Personnel from Ohio Department of Transportation, Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Groton Township Fire/EMS Department, Erie County’s coroner, North Central EMS, Spilltek and Madison’s Towing assisted.
