NR appoints Income Tax Committee
NEW RIEGEL — New Riegel Village Council met Tuesday evening with four members present. The council approved three members of the Income Tax Committee. Curtis Pugh, Dawn Nye and Katie Brickner will hear appeals of contested tax bills.
A light and pole at the baseball field was damaged by wind on Oct 27. Insurance will cover the majority of the repair cost.
Columbia Gas located and repaired a gas leak at the village hall. A new line has been installed and lawn damage will be repaired by spring.
Mayor Larry Bouillon reported that all summer projects have been completed within the estimated budget. The final job was to remove four damaged trees that were in the village right of way at a cost of $2,300. The stumps will need to be removed.
In anticipating snow removal, Adam Faeth has been hired to assist with heavy snowfall. The village approved the purchase of a pushbox for the tractor.
Preparing for the Christmas season, the council approved the repair or replacement of holiday lights within a budget of $750. The lights are to be installed during the week following Thanksgiving.
A temporary budget for 2020 was approved. The permanent budget will be approved in three months when the final revenues have been calculated.
The leaf collection is to continue for the next several weeks. Leaves need to be bagged and at the curb by 8 a.m. Monday morning.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Dec 17.
