Members of Seneca County United Veterans Council offer a gun salute during a Veterans Day program at Hopewell-Loudon School on Monday morning. President Jody O’Millian raises the flag during the Star Spangled Banner. Students also participated in a program in the gymnasium. The ceremony was dedicated to Jim Roberts, an 83-year-old Tiffin resident who served in the U.S. Army, as Seneca County’s sheriff and as a Tiffin City Council member. Roberts, who had helped Hopewell-Loudon with honoring veterans, died Sept. 13. “He will be truly missed,” said Kendra Nelson, principal at Hopewell-Loudon Elementary School.
