Escort truck strikes semi on US 224

A Pennsylvania woman was hurt when the oversize load escort truck she was driving struck the semi she was following on US 224, east of US 23, Monday afternoon. Trooper Don Pratt of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Diane Kramer, 68, of Pittsburgh, was driving a 2014 GMC Sierra pickup that was the rear escort for a semi hauling a walking bridge. The GMC Sierra, which is registered to Kramer Casey Enterprises, and the semi, driven by Wayne Mock, 60, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, were west on US 224. The GMC Sierra struck the semi in the rear, Pratt said. Pratt said Kramer was wearing a seatbelt and was treated at the scene. She was going to be cited with assured clear distance, he said. Mock was not hurt. Personnel from Bascom EMS, Bascom Joint Fire District, the county's Echo unit, State Highway Patrol and John's Welding & Towing assisted. The accident occurred about 12:40 p.m.
