Check out the Y-Wives Holiday Extravaganza Saturday

The annual Y-Wives Holiday Extravaganza is to take place Saturday, with featured works from a custom gift artist.

Savannah Root started B&R Designs four years ago just as a way to save money on cheerleading shirts for her daughter. It then became a way to help out friends and family and has grown from there.

Root said she makes a variety of custom items like mugs, tumblers, wine glasses, shirts, sweatshirts and more. She said there are a lot of similar items out there, but her items are all handmade and are what is on trend now — such as the VSCO trend which is a new social media term developed from the photo editing app “VSCO.”

“My items are constantly changing with what is popular,” Root said.

Much of her items are geared toward her 10-year-old daughter’s age group.

“I am honored to be this year’s featured vendor,” Root said. “I never anticipated this business to grow as much as it did.”

The event is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Tiffin YMCA, 180 Summit St. Parking is to be available at the YMCA and National Machinery lots. A free shuttle is to be available.

Due to the YMCA remodel, this year there will not be a luncheon available.

The event is to include crafts from over 100 vendors, a visit from Santa, childwatch is available from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., door prizes and more.

Proceeds raised are to be used for YMCA programs and/or facilities.
