Man to serve community control

A Risingsun man was ordered to serve community control.

Cody A. Beckford, 29, entered a written plea of guilty to a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, during a hearing in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley’s courtroom.

Kelbley sentenced Beckford to three years of community control and granted credit for two days served in Seneca County Jail, according to court records.

Beckford must undergo counseling, substance abuse rehabilitation and/or treatment as determined necessary and undergo random drug and/or alcohol urinalysis as directed by Adult Parole Authority.

Man pleads guilty

A Findlay man pleaded guilty to a charge during a hearing in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Steve Shuff’s courtroom.

James H. Johnston Jr., 27, entered a written negotiated plea of guilty to a charge of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony, according to court records.

The case was referred for a pre-sentence investigation report.

Bellevue United Selective Fund receives donation

YOUNGSTOWN – Home Savings Bank has donated $2,000 to the Bellevue United Selective Fund to be used for the annual Bellevue United Selective Fund Campaign, according to a release from Home Savings Bank.

“The Bellevue United Selective Fund provides assistance to help local charities complete their missions,” explained Dave Sabo, foundation director of the Bellevue United Selective Fund, in the release. “Our entire organization is made up of volunteers. We choose to donate our time and efforts in order to help these local organizations make the Bellevue area a better place to live and work.”

“We are so proud to support Bellevue United Selective Fund and its efforts in the Bellevue community,” Trish Gelsomino of Home Savings Bank is quoted saying in the release.

Park district board meets Tuesday

Seneca County Park District board meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the park office, 3362 S. TR 151.

Topics on the agenda include adoption of budgets for the park district and Out & About Preschool as well as a preschool fee schedule, rental agreements, an H2O Ohio Fund grant agreement and setting a 2020 board meeting schedule.

New Riegel Board to meet

NEW RIEGEL — The New Riegel Board of Education is to meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the school, 44 N Perry St.
