Great Lakes Ace Hardware to host 95th anniversary celebration
Great Lakes Ace Hardware in Tiffin, 1550 W. Market St., is to celebrate Ace Hardware’s 95th anniversary Saturday with an in-store birthday celebration.
Employees will be handing out cupcakes, cookies and cider and also treats from the grill as they provide demonstrations of available grills from 11 a.m.-1 p.m Saturday, Assistant Manager Scott Capelle said.
There will be demos of EGO’s battery-operated product line in-store Saturday as well, giving patrons a chance to check out EGO’s lawn mowers, leaf blowers, chainsaws and other equipment, he said.
The Fostoria Great Lakes Ace Hardware at 1656 N. Countyline St. is also taking part in Saturday’s birthday event, a spokeswoman from the store said. They will be providing demonstrations and handing out treats from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Ace Hardware Co. was founded in 1924 by a group of Chicago hardware store owners, according to the company’s website. The Ace Hardware Corp. is still owned by its retail affiliates to this day, it states.
Tiffin’s Great Lakes Ace Hardware store, currently managed by Larry Montz, celebrates its own 59th anniversary this year.
