Memorial parade

organizers sought

United Veterans Council of Seneca County is looking for an organization or person to take over Tiffin’s Memorial Day parade.

The council has sponsored the parade for more than 20 years, and its members are getting older.

The group is willing to coach a new organization or person for the 2020 Memorial Day parade and has everything documented and in digital format.

Anyone interested can call Denny Burkin at (419) 448-1706.

Students invited

to museum party

to celebrate mascot

Seneca County Museum is inviting students and families to attend an open house celebration at 2 p.m. Oct. 27. The event is to announce the contest winners and winning name of the new official museum mascot, which is a four-legged duckling.

The museum has been home, for many decades, to the four-legged duckling, which is a notable attraction.

Several weeks ago, the museum staff put out a request to county school children to put on their thinking caps and “hatch” a name for the duckling. Official ballot voting took place at three polling places during the Heritage Festival.

The celebration is a way for students and families to become familiar with the four-legged duckling and learn some of the plans the museum has for its friend.

Registration is not required for the event.
