Two killed in Sandusky County accident
Two from Fremont died after a one-vehicle accident Thursday at 9:08 p.m. on SR 19 in Rice Township, Sandusky County.
Chris Johnoff, 63, was driving a 2003 Acura two-door southbound on SR 19 at a high rate of speed, according to a release from the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol. The release states he lost control of the vehicle and drove off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and the car then overturned several times.
Johnoff and passenger Carolyn J. Partlow, 67, were both ejected from the vehicle, the release states.
Johnoff and Partlow were pronounced dead at the scene, it states.
Johnoff was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, though Partlow was wearing hers, it states.
State Highway Patrol believes that alcohol was a factor in the accident, the release states.
Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Lindsay Fire and EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation, Lucas County Coroner’s Office and Ash’s Towing assisted at the scene.
