Trash in rail car burns Monday

FOSTORIA — Trash in a rail car burned Monday.

Fostoria Fire Division received the call about the fire about 7:50 p.m., and it took nearly two hours to extinguish it.

Chief Brian Herbert of Fostoria Fire Division said the train delivering trash was stationary and was waiting to get into Sunny Farms. He said he didn’t see any damage to the rail car, and the fire did not spread to any other cars.

Hebert said he didn’t know how it started.

Personnel from CSX and Fostoria Police Department responded.

There were no injuries, Herbert said.
