President Trump to visit Wapakoneta facility

President Donald Trump is to tour a Pratt Industries manufacturing facility in Wapakoneta and give some remarks Sunday evening.

Trump will be joined Sunday by Prime Minister Scott Morrison of Australia for the tour of the Australian-owned facility in a visit that is to “to underscore the important partnership between the United States and Australia,” a release from White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham states.

Grisham stated in the release that the visit is meant specifically to “demonstrate the strong trade and investment relationship between the United States and Australia.”

Pratt Industries is owned by Anthony Pratt, an Australian billionaire and prominent supporter of President Trump.

Morrison will also be hosted Friday at the Trump administration’s second state dinner at the White House, the first since Trump hosted French president Emmanuel Macron in April 2018.

Trump will participate in an event earlier Sunday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India in Houston. The event, titled “Howdy, Modi!”, was planned to try to “reaffirm the strategic partnership between the world’s oldest and largest democracies, and to discuss ways to deepen their energy and trade relationship,” the release states.
