First-responders work at the scene of an accident at CR 30 and TR 72 Monday evening.

Three people were hurt in an accident at CR 30 and TR 72 Monday evening.

Trooper Mark Sorg of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Colin M. Zelms, 17, of Fremont, was driving a 2003 Honda Civic south on TR 72, and Christian-Todd K. Schmitz, 20, of Clyde, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer West on CR 30.

Zelms failed to yield from the stop sign, and his vehicle was struck by the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Sorg said.

The Honda Civic went off the right side of the road, and the Chevrolet Trailblazer went off the left side of the road, he said.

Zelms, Schmitz and Madison Lemons, 18, of Tiffin, a passenger in the Chevrolet Trailblazer, were taken to ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont. They were wearing seatbelts, and their injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening, Sorg said.

Personnel from North Central EMS, Bettsville EMS, Old Fort Volunteer Fire Department, the Echo unit, State Highway Patrol, Madison Motors and D & D Total Repair assisted at the scene.
