Search warrant executed at Tiffin puppy mill

A Tiffin man and woman are facing potential criminal prosecution following execution of a search warrant Thursday.

The search warrant followed an investigation into animal neglect and cruelty at a puppy mill at 5046 SH 53, Upper Sandusky, according to Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.

Orville Alabaugh and Debbra Alabaugh of Tiffin own the facility and face potential criminal prosecution and charges through Ohio Department of Agriculture, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials found 150 dogs, with one being deceased. The other 149 were removed and placed with Humane Society of Wyandot County.

Upper Sandusky Police Department, Ohio Department of Agriculture, Wyandot County Dog Warden, Wyandot County Health Department, Wyandot County Emergency Management Agency and Wyandot County Prosecutor’s Office assisted with the investigation.

Dr. Kristen Montgomery of Animal Clinic of Upper Sandusky and Humane Society of Wyandot County are assisting with the evaluation and humane treatment of the seized animals, according to the sheriff’s office.
