Republic Wind hearing scheduled for Sept. 12

COLUMBUS — Ohio Power Siting Board has rescheduled hearings regarding Republic Wind LLC’s application to construct a wind farm in Seneca and Sandusky counties for 3-8 p.m. Sept. 12 at Tiffin University’s Marion Center, 235 Miami St.

The purpose of the local public hearing is to allow interested persons, who are not parties to the case, to provide sworn testimony regarding the proposed facility.

An adjudicatory hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 2 in hearing room 11-D at the offices of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, 180 E. Broad St., Columbus. The purpose of the adjudicatory hearing is for Republic Wind, OPSB staff and parties to the case to present evidence regarding the facility

As proposed, Republic Wind Farm would consist of up to 47 wind turbines in Adams, Reed, Scipio and Thompson townships in Seneca County and York Township in Sandusky County with an electrical generating capacity of up to 200 megawatts.
