Seneca County Junior Fair participants were recognized for their hard work and effort leading up to this summer’s fair at the 11th annual Grade A Celebration at the Seneca County fairgrounds Sunday evening.

Junior Fair participants, their advisers and families were invited to the celebration, which included a picnic dinner sponsored by Good Shepherd Home.

Keith Hodkinson, morning radio host at WBVI-Mix 96.7FM, gave a few remarks at the opening of the celebration.

“I’m so impressed with the kids involved in 4-H and the projects we saw at the fair this year,” Hodkinson said. “These kids get up at the same time in the morning as us adults do. I always tell them to keep that passion and you’ll do well in life.”

Entertainment for the evening was provided by Dave Lohnes of Ohio State University, who performed his “Whiz Bang Science Show,” and by the Doggonit’s Dog Drill Team.

Katie Cole, Ohio State University Extension Educator in 4-H Youth Development, then recognized area 4-H clubs, advisers and those who competed at the Ohio State Fair.

There was also a silent auction for items donated by 4-H clubs and other area organizations in support of the Seneca County 4-H program, and door prizes were given out to attendees.

The Kiwanis Club of Tiffin and the Fostoria Kiwanis Club hosted the banquet.
