Fifth annual Fly-In offers aerial excitement and VIP reception
MARION — Marion Wings & Wheels Inc. is hosting its fifth annual Fly-In 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 14 at Marion Municipal Airport, 1530 Pole Lane Road.
The fly-in will feature P-51 plane rides, the exhibition of a documentary about the CAF Red Tail Squadron, helicopter rides, a flight simulator and drone races among other activities, a release from Marion Wings & Wheels states.
There also will be activities for children, including pedal plane races, and food trucks on-site, the release states.
Marion Wings & Wheels also will host a VIP reception at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 13. Tickets are available for a $50 donation through the Marion Wings & Wheels website, wingswheelsmarion.org.
Harold Brown, one of the few remaining Tuskegee Airmen, is to be present at the VIP reception, and he will answer questions after a viewing of his documentary in the CAF Red Tail Squadron’s Mobile Theater, the release states.
There are only 150 seats available for the reception, and one ticket-holder will be chosen to receive a free P-51C Mustang flight that night, it states.
Hors d’ouevres will be served at the reception, it states.
