Clyde man dies after accident in Erie County Saturday morning
A Clyde man died after a single-vehicle accident in Erie County at about 6 a.m. Saturday, according to a release from the Sandusky post of State Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred on Barrett Road about one-tenth of a mile east of Newberry Avenue near Sandusky, the release states.
Brian P. Wilkerson, 21, was driving westbound in a 2005 Dodge Ram pick-up truck when his vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree, it states. Wilkerson was pronounced dead at the scene, it states.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident, it states.
Wilkerson was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, it states.
Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Margaretta Township Fire Department and EMS, Erie County Coroner’s Office, Ransom Funeral Home and Sandusky Towing assisted at the scene.
